David A. (Dave) Denslow, Jr.
Dr. Dave Denslow is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Economics. He specialized in Macroeconomics, the Florida Economy, and Regional Economics. He earned a Ph.D. in 1974 and an M.S. in 1966 from Yale University, as well as a B.A. from Earlham College in 1964. Professor Denslow taught Principles of Macroeconomics to a large class of 1,000 students via TV replay, and he was recognized numerous times by both students and peers for his outstanding teaching.
His research primarily focused on spatial price indexes, comparing the cost of living across different geographic areas, from counties to nations. Professor Denslow also served as the Director of the Policy Studies Program for the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Florida.
He authored several influential works, including The Florida Price of Living Index: A Report to the Florida Legislature (1996) and The Economy of Florida (1990). His research contributions also included publications on NAFTA, interest rates, and sugar production.
