Areas of Responsibility
My primary areas of responsibility are information security and Linux system administration for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Background
I have been working with computers in one capacity or another for over 30 years. I also have experience as a small printing press operator which paid a lot of my bills while attending UF many years ago. I transitioned to computers as they began to be used for desktop publishing and I became the go-to guy for anything technology-related at the company for which I was working. I spent almost fifteen years there before coming to work for UF in 2004. Since then I have worked in IT as a Technician, a Support Analyst and – most recently – as a Systems Administrator for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
