Description and Goals

This course deals with basic issues in the processing and acquisition of a second language, and the
psycholinguistic and brain imaging techniques can be applied to address these issues. Topics include:
introduction to psycholinguistic and brain imaging methods, the bilingual lexicon, second languagesentence processing, learning sounds in L2, controlling multiple languages, and code switching. Also the issue of proficiency versus age of acquisition and L1attrition will be addressed..
