Ethics in the Public Sphere

Our interdisciplinary project on Ethics in the Public Sphere is is part of the Intersections:  Research into Teaching program at the University of Florida, sponsored by the Center for the Humanities in the Public Sphere, with generous support from the Mellon Foundation.  Our project integrates teaching, research, and public engagement, involving participants from disciplines and centers across the UF campus. We sponsor public events including ethics cafes, panel discussions, and other programs that facilitate critical understanding of contentious issues, constructive reflection and dialogue about them, and effective action toward the common good. We also support a number of curricular initiatives, including a new undergraduate certificate in Ethics and Society.  Undergraduate students interested in participating can apply to be interns through the CAIRES Center’s Active Learning Program.
