Spanning trees in higher dimensions

Abstract: I will introduce the notion of a spanning tree in a finite CW complex of arbitrary dimension. We will utilize this to give an analogue of Kirchhoff’s electrical and matrix-tree theorems in higher dimensions.

I will also explain how spanning trees enter in the study of the stochastic motion of cycles in a CW complex.
