A few things may be relevant to just the January, 2015 exam, but they should be generally useful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The material is based on class lectures and the text <span id=\"productTitle\" class=\"a-size-large\"><em>Numerical Linear Algebra<\/em> by <span class=\"a-size-medium\">Trefethen<\/span> and Bau.<br>\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>An important note on the text and the exam:<\/strong> The textbook sometimes uses informal, heuristic or sketches of proofs.
