{"id":211,"date":"2024-04-25T11:50:09","date_gmt":"2024-04-25T15:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/chenshanting\/?page_id=211"},"modified":"2026-04-08T13:09:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T17:09:06","slug":"current-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/chenshanting\/current-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Research"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"fullwidth-text-block\"><div class=\"container px-0\"><div class=\"row align-items-start\"><div class=\"col-12\">\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adapting Machine Learning Approaches to Identify Robust Measures and Key Risk and Protective Factors of Changes in Allostatic Load across the Adult Lifespan<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Allostatic load (AL) is a promising preclinical marker for predicting chronic disease risk. This study aims to identify the optimal AL measure, develop the DNA methylation surrogate of AL across two ongoing population datasets (Add Health, Health Retirement Study), and identify key risk and protective factors across various ecological levels contributing to changes in allostatic load across life stages. Drawings of brains are placed above the people.\" class=\"wp-image-177\" style=\"width:300px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Biopsychosocial Young Adult Tech Experience (BYTE) Study<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This study combines daily ecological momentary assessment (EMA) surveys with biological and neuroimaging data to examine the effects of daily smartphone use on the well-being (e.g. mood, sleep, stress) of young adults.
