All members of Dr. Tucker\u2019s research teams learn how to conduct culturally sensitive, community participatory, qualitative and quantitative research by being involved in all aspects of the research process. The research attitudes, knowledge, and skills acquired by members of Dr. Tucker\u2019s research teams help realize her aspiration of preparing the next generation of first-rate, culturally sensitive researchers. Below are descriptions of Dr. Tucker\u2019s two research teams. Information about current and recent past research projects for both teams can be found on the UF Health Disparities Research and Intervention Program <a href=\"http:\/\/ufhealthdisparities.med.ufl.edu\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Former Post-Doctoral Associates<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Kelechi Ibe-Lamberts, Ph.D.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/cmtucker\/files\/Dr-Ibe-Lamberts.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/cmtucker\/files\/Dr-Ibe-Lamberts.jpg\" alt=\"lamberts\" style=\"width:154px;height:auto\"><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ph.D., Community Health,\u00a0University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign<\/li>\n<li>M.S., Health Education and Policy,\u00a0University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign<\/li>\n<li>B.S., Community Health, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Ibe-Lamberts was a postdoctoral research fellow for Dr. Carolyn Tucker&#8217;s research lab from Fall 2017 to Summer 2018.\u00a0He is originally from Nigeria but raised in Chicago, Illinois. He self-identifies as a Transnational African Immigrant and fosters a research agenda that is focused on health behaviors and outcomes in culturally diverse Black Immigrant communities, specifically transnational communities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>His research interests are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Health disparities<\/li>\n<li>Minority health<\/li>\n<li>Cultural and behavioral health<\/li>\n<li>Immigrant health<\/li>\n<li>Community-based research<\/li>\n<li>Health &amp; aging<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>J. Lauren\u00a0Butler, RDN, PhD<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/cmtucker\/files\/Dr-Butler-1024x996.jpg\" alt=\"butler\" style=\"width:165px;height:auto\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ph.D., Nutrition, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a minor in Epidemiology<\/li>\n<li>B.S., Dietetics and Nutrition, Florida International University<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Butler was a postdoctoral research associate for Dr. Carolyn Tucker at the University of Florida\u2019s Department of Psychology and the UF-Health Disparities Research and Intervention Program. She\u00a0is a native Floridian originally from the rural town of Okeechobee, Florida.
