  • Bookmarklets
    • wayback bookmarklet (Checks to see if the current page is in the wayback archive.).
      • Drag wayback to your bookmarks bar.
    • archiveit bookmarklet (Requests that archive.org add the current page to the wayback archive.).
      • Drag archiveit to your bookmarks bar.

You can use the first “bookmarklet”, wayback, to check to see if a site has been archived on archive.org and if it has not, or it has changed since the last archive, you can use the second bookmarklet, archiveit, to request that the site create a new archive. If you are unfamiliar with bookmarklets, they are little bits of javascript that you can store as a bookmark and execute whatever command when you select it. Generally within the context of the current page.

You can then reference the archived copy of the site like this or without the toolbar (By adding “im_” immediately after the 14 digit timestamp in the URL.).
