“Ms Demas is a very nice, positive, and incredible teacher. I took her for college algebra and I liked her a lot, so I took her again for Survey of Calculus. I think she is the best Survey of Calculus teacher at Santa Fe College. She always give us very clear explanations, instructions, and always creates a very pleasant learning environment. I will always recommend her for every student who want to take this class.”

Spring 2013

MAT1033.037:

“Mrs. Demas teaches math in a way that it’s very easy to understand. She’s very passionate and makes jokes that only she finds funny, which in itself is funny. Really enjoyed having her, would love to take her again.”

“My instructor does everything she could to help us learn. It is not often I get a good math teacher that makes it easier for me to learn. I am happy with what I learned in her course.”

Fall 2013

MAC1105.005:

“Amazing, passionate, and sincerely concerned for the student’s success in her class. Goes out of her way to make sure we understand. Also provides clear and concise directions for homework.”

Spring 2014

MAC1140.008

“I love the the teacher and her methods. I really liked how she required use to do written homework instead of homework on the computer. My friends would laugh at how easy could breeze though some of the problems on the computer programs. My friends are also failing their calc classes. I think written homework engages the student more than a computer program does. I can’t think of one thing that I didn’t like about her class. I also like how she explains the practical use of each topic that we are learning. Sometimes kids start to think, “when am I ever going to need to solve a matrix?” She seems very knowledgeable when it comes to anything that involves math. Her class is awesome and she’s a great teacher.”

“Ms. Demas is a great professor. She is so helpful, and is always available through email in case students have questions about the material we are learning. She genuinely wants us to do well. She goes above and behind to give us plenty of resources to prep us so that we perform to the best of our abilities. She types notes and does notes on the board. She takes her time to create worksheets in addition to the book homework problems so that we have extra practice. She is also very patient. She is amazing.”

Summer 2014

MAC2311.C03:

“The best math teacher I have ever had by far. She knows exactly what she’s teaching and makes sure you’re able to understand the material before she moves on. I wish I could have her with all my math classes”

“Great teacher, best math teacher I’ve had at Santa Fe so far.”

MAC2311.C51:

“Professor Demas was absolutely fantastic. I also know that many of my classmates in Calc 1 and friends in Calc 2 have really enjoyed Professor Demas as well. I would actually like to share that the Professor is one of the best teachers I have ever had.

She challenged us in class and in the homework and labs with a multitude of diverse problems and examples that have given me a very strong foundation in Calc 1. I feel like I have a very good understanding of Calc 1 that will make me extremely prepared for Calc 2.”

MAC2312.C51:

“Loved this class, teacher was extremely helpful and very clear on the material. She was extremely helpful if you had any questions. Very supportive and allowed me to learn the material easily. Overall great experience.”

“I had heard horror stories of Calculus 2, however, Professor Demas made it easy to comprehend while still encouraging a level of perfection that many other professors do not do (or overdo). This class taught me more than any others I’ve taken.”

“I could not have asked for a better teacher for this course. Carol Demas has been a true help in every way possible. I would recommend this class to anyone who need calculus 2.”
