Postdoctoral Opportunity: Behavioral and Biological Processes of Stress and Health in Development

The University of Florida invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Associate position(s) available immediately. This opportunity is suited to individuals with research interests in any of the following areas: psychology, genetics, neuroscience, statistics, public health, sociology, mental health, and health disparities. The lab focuses on stress/adversity and protective factors in the social environment that impact risk for emotional and behavioral health problems, particularly via impacts on epigenetic and neurobiological processes. The lab has a strong interest in documenting how these processes may contribute to health disparities during child and adolescent development. The successful candidate(s) will have ample, immediate opportunities to conduct original data analysis and disseminate research findings through presentations and publications. Either on-site or remote work options are possible.

Postdoctoral fellows work closely with the Principal Investigator as well as faculty at collaborating universities. Fellows will be closely mentored by the PI to facilitate transition to independent research careers by emphasizing analytic, writing, and professional development skills. An added benefit to an affiliation with the University of Florida is our extensive professional development program for Postdoctoral fellows via workshops, mentoring, and research funding opportunities available. Qualifications:

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline from behavioral, biological, social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology, genetics, neuroscience), statistics/ biostatistics, public health, other related discipline. Solid quantitative skills with experience in one or more statistical packages (such as R, Stata, Mplus, SAS, or other), prior experience working with large datasets, and/or and prior publications are desirable.
