He is a white male with brown hair.\" class=\"wp-image-166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/dlaroc10\/files\/laroche.jpg 252w, https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/dlaroc10\/files\/laroche-176x210.jpg 176w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 252px) 100vw, 252px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\">Hello, my name is Dominique Laroche and I joined the department of physics at UF as an Assistant-Professor in&nbsp; January 2019.&nbsp; &nbsp;I am also the assistant-director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalmaglab.org\/user-facilities\/high-b-t\/\">High B\/T facility,<\/a> a user facility within the <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalmaglab.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/nationalmaglab.org\/\">National MagLab<\/a>.&nbsp; My lab activities&nbsp; revolve around the design and fabrication of quantum-devices coupled at the nanoscale and in the study of the&nbsp; interactions that arise between such closely packed systems when cooled to cryogenic temperatures.&nbsp; Here is my&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/dlaroc10\/cv\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"389\">CV<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\" style=\"font-size:33px\">Here is a list of my current research interests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size:23px\">Interactions in the 1D <strong>Luttinger liquid state<\/strong> : Measured through Coulomb drag<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:23px\"><strong style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\">Majorana Bound States<\/strong><span style=\"background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);\"> in hybrid superconductor-semiconductor devices : Characterization and new experimental platforms<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"font-size:23px\">Strongly correlated electron and\/or hole <strong>bilayers<\/strong> : Exotic behavior arising in 1D or 2D geometries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:33px\"><strong>Openings :<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:25px\">We are always looking for highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join our group!\u00a0 There are currently at least one funded open graduate student position for the Fall 2026 term.
