Darragh P. Devine, Ph.D.<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Devine is the Graduate Coordinator of the Department of Psychology, former Director of the Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience graduate training program, and Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology from Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) in 1982, a Master\u2019s degree in Psychology from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) in 1988, and a doctoral degree from the Center for Studies in Behavioral Neurobiology of Concordia University in 1993. He did a post-doctoral fellowship in the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute at the University of Michigan, and then joined the faculty of the University of Florida, Department of Psychology in 1998. His research on the neurobiology of stress and self-injurious behavior has earned funding from the National Institute on Child Health and Human Development, the National Science Foundation, the National Alliance for Autism Research, the Cure Autism Now Foundation\/Autism Speaks, the Congressionally-Directed Medical Research Programs, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Devine has been recognized twice as Teacher of the Year for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (2003 and 2012), and as HHMI Distinguished Mentor (2012). He has also been recognized as a \u201cYou Made a Difference\u201d Professor (2001) and as the Colonel Allen R. and Margaret G. Crow Term Professor (2010-2011). In addition, Dr. Devine was a recipient of the Governor General of Canada\u2019s Gold Medal for Research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
