Office Hours: M 8 (3:00-3:50pm), W 7 (1:55-2:45pm) and F 3 (9:35-10:25am) or by appointment.

Prerequisites:
A basic knowledge of analysis and complex function theory.

Outline:
In his 2003 Thesis Sander Zwegers showed how Ramanujan’s mock-theta functions fit into the theory of real analytic modular forms. Bringmann, Ono and others have developed Zwegers’s results into what they call the theory of weak harmonic Maass forms. We hope to work our way through Zwegers’s thesis, covering any needed background material and seeing where it leads us. Some topics include Lerch sums, indefinite theta-functions, Jacobi forms and mock-theta functions.

Grades will be based on either some homework or a class presentation.

Homework assignments will be assigned regularly and graded.
