Course Description <\/dt>\n<\/h3>\n
MAS 4301 is a 3 credit course on Abstract Algebra which focuses mainly on group theory and ring theory. Topics include sets and mappings, groups and subgroups, homomorphisms and isomorphisms, permutations, rings and domains, arithmetic properties of domains, and fields. This course requires facility in writing proofs.\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

There are two midterm exams and final exam which as two parts.

Students are encouraged to form study groups. You may discuss homework with your class mates and Dr. Garvan. However it is not ok to copy anyone else’s work. The work you turn in must be your own. The lowest homework score will be dropped.\n <\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n
