The cutoffs given below are the bottom for the “flat” grade, not for the minus grade. The A- cutoff is 1/3 of the way down from the A cutoff to the B cutoff; the B+ cutoff is 1/3 of the way up from the B cutoff to the A cutoff. The other plus and minus grades work similarly, except that I do not give D-‘s (anything lower than the D cutoff is an E).

Course (1000 points: for MAA 4402 each hour-exam counts for 250; final exam counts for 400; homework counts for 100). Only the MAA 4402 grade-components and data are given here; the requirements for the two MAA 5404 students were slightly different.
