Reading Days, Final Examinations, and Grade-Posting

The memorandum below states the current UF policies in these areas.

      MEMORANDUM — April 21, 2003

TO: University Faculty

FROM: David R. Colburn, Provost

SUBJECT: Reading Days and Final Examinations

This is to remind you that no comprehensive examinations or term papers should be assigned during the reading days.

Additionally, consonant with University Rules, final examinations are not to be changed without approval of the University Curriculum Committee. Please be mindful that our students have several examinations and changing your examination can affect their entire schedule.

You cannot post grades by name or social security number, even the last four digits of a social security number. You may post final grades by some other identifier, but we prefer you submit your grades on Grade-a-Gator and they will be posted immediately.

Finally, please keep in mind that your students are under considerable stress during this period and may need your assistance or guidance. We also have professional counselors available if you are especially concerned about a student. Thank you for your attention to these matters and your support of our students.
