Please remember that while you&#8217;re welcome to use these excellent notes as source-material to supplement the textbook, your class notes, and my own handouts on various topics, Dr. McCullough&#8217;s notes are not an &#8220;official&#8221; set of notes for our section. There may be topics that I cover that Dr. McCullough does not, and vice-versa. A few caveats: the notation is different from what we&#8217;ve been using in MAA 4212; the &#8220;grown-up&#8221; derivative is not defined (since most Calc 3 students haven&#8217;t taken Linear Algebra yet); and the gradient of a real-valued function <i>is<\/i> defined, but hasn&#8217;t been defined in our class and won&#8217;t be (introducing it too briefly would likely lead to some misconceptions and over-generalizations, and there would be no class-time left to undo the damage).\n<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n<a href=\"..\/homepage\"> Class home page<br>\n<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><i>Last update made by D.
