(Although the prerequisites for<br>\nthis course <i>are supposed to<\/i> cover most of this material, I have found that many students<br>\nenter MAA 4211 without having had sufficient feedback on their work to eliminate common<br>\nmistakes or bad habits.) I recommend also reading &#8220;Taking notes in a college math  class&#8221;,<br>\neven though it is aimed at freshmen and sophomores.\n<\/li><li> Take the <a href=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/groisser\/content-removed\/\">Proof-writing quiz<\/a>, but <strong>DO NOT HAND IT IN<\/strong>. This quiz is a diagnostic tool for<br>\nyou to measure your own readiness for this class. <strong><i>The passing score on this quiz is 100%<\/i><\/strong>,<br>\nwhich is one reason I don&#8217;t want you to hand it in \u2014 I don&#8217;t want anyone to start the semester<br>\nwith a heart attack. Getting anything wrong on this quiz is a sign that you may not be ready<br>\nfor this class. Getting more than one thing wrong is a sign that you&#8217;re almost definitely not<br>\nready.
