South Eastern Logic Symposium
March 1-2, 2009
The conference was devoted to the interaction between set theory and C* algebras, as exemplified by the recent results of Ilijas Farah and Nik Weaver. Another topic is Polish group actions and Borel equivalence relations.
Invited speakers:
- John Clemens, Penn State, Complexity of the isomorphism problem for subshifts
- Ilijas Farah, York University, Nonseparable UHF algebras
Su Gao, University of North Texas, Equivalence relations from actions of the unitary group - Stefan Geschke, Boise State University
- Juris Steprans, York University, Maximal abelian subalgebras and related structures in the Calkin algebra
- Simon Thomas, Rutgers University, A remark on the Higman-Neumann subalgebras of P(ω)/fin
- Andrew Toms, York University, Functional classification of C* algebras: Elliott’s program
