Staci Ouch, MS (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Staci Ouch\u00a0is a sixth year doctoral student in the UF counseling psychology program. Staci is currently completing her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Houston. Staci earned a B.S. in Psychology and B.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Houston. Currently, her professional interests include exploring the health disparities, coping processes, and effects of multiple minority stress within LGBTQ+ individuals. In her free time, Staci enjoys playing guitar, cooking, reading, and playing tennis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexandra S. Weis (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Alex is a graduate of UF\u2019s Center for Gender, Sexualities, and Women\u2019s Studies Research master\u2019s program and a current doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology. She is passionate about research that explores the ways marginalization affects mental health and well-being broadly. This has resulted in several different projects: investigating self-objectification in menstrual health, examining gender role beliefs during the 2016 election, and analyzing citation networks of literature on counseling and intersectionality. She is currently working on a project that explores client perspectives on discussion of social issues and the political climate within counseling. Alexandra also loves feminist, person-centered therapy, and has worked in various clinics and counseling centers in the Gainesville community. In her free time, Alex enjoys painting, attending folk punk concerts, writing about being a lesbian, making rustic soups, and carving wooden spoons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marissa Falk, MPH (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Marissa is a first-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program. She earned a BA degree from the University of Michigan and an MPH in Women\u2019s & Reproductive Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In her \u201cprevious career,\u201d she created and implemented reproductive health and women\u2019s and youth education programs in Francophone countries in Africa with numerous organizations, including the U.S. Peace Corps, Women\u2019s Global Education Project, Population Reference Bureau, and International Planned Parenthood Federation.\u00a0Marissa<\/span>\u00a0looks forward to developing her counseling skills while integrating her interests in sexual and reproductive health and multilingualism in her approach to therapy. As an advocate for social change, her research and practice interests include sexual minorities, reproductive justice, LGBTQ identity development, gender, and multicultural counseling. She enjoys supporting local businesses, traveling, learning new languages, and exploring nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sumaiya Nusrath, MA (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Sumaiya is a first-year student in the Counseling psych doctoral program. She received a BA from Temple University and an MA in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University prior to her time at UF. Her research interests focus on intersectional identity development and oppression faced by various marginalized communities. She is also interested in psychometric research and developing culturally appropriate tools and interventions to address the needs of the diverse groups. In her free time, Sumaiya enjoys baking, reading fantasy, watching k-dramas, listening to live music, and hanging out with her cat, Yuzu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emily A. McIltrot, B.A., B.S. (she\/her)<\/h3>\n\n\n

Emily is a first-year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program. She earned a B.A. in Women\u2019s Studies and a B.S. in General Psychology from the University of Florida. Her research interests predominately focus on minority stress (e.g., experiences of discrimination, internalized stigma), experiences of sexual objectification, and body image across LGBTQ+ populations. This research explores implications for sexual well-being as well as examines intersections across axes of inequality.
