In Vortex Affinities: A Kitchen Suite:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

I. Leather Jerky
\nIf you would wield a whip
\nI ask that it be black.
\nWhat sense a stem crawl
\nor a whineful vine?
\nFlagrant fragrance of benign Nature,
\nor her creeping line of future nectar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Kitchenry tells us much the same:
\nIf solitary spaghetti seeks the
\nsearing heat of iron skillets
\nto reach a useful hardness,
\nour gigantic appetite belittles it.
\nAnd if the sweet agitation of battered butter
\nwould whet or satisfy your taste,
\nI, connosieur, could but sadly laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Sight in flight no sooner yields a refrain.
\nAnd I must, will, see your harvest thrashed
\nWitness fate’s fleshly flogging,

I am not the sprite dwarf
\nwho leads gorgeous blind men
\nand dazzled young albinos
\ndown the alameda of knowledge
\ntowards the feeding dish<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

I insist an electrified platter
\nof plates for cats who scoff shrimp
\nand our eyes lash last, starched
\nfeline feelers to whisk the rats away
\nnot let them gnaw or know
\ncolorless visions of minute globes
\nProtect our kitchens though we eat outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

III. the edible acronym<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

first to lash or nurse or splice this
\nlaugh amend a lurid lush last
\nseal the lofts for pregnant sale wish
\nghast rotund unfaithful sense of
\ngood for fate a naked cure one
\ncurve of risk foregone to pass known
\nfeasts are asked to fool me follow gain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

IV. Having a Cake to Eat<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

This strident texture
\nof ripeness aloud as
\nthe caulk ache allowed
\nnests in your bones
\ngripe not dry;
\nmoist inscription
\nof lost imminence,
\nan incision decried;
\nmostly you devoured
\nan untrue devotion
\na confection of faith
\nless folly from the center;
\nyour own essence a baste
\nin the haste of sense
\nor the tenseless waste
\nof owning yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

V. Eating Alone<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

If squeezed freshly from the source
\nalready halved juice trickles
\nthrough the leaved stalked
\nbulbed pitted shreds of light
\nthe sprouted strands of beans to be will
\nform the cavern of foliage that organic
\nmagnet of centrifuge and feeding for the
\nlemon dew of a single repast<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

\nd’ \u0153uvres, tidbits and munchies;
\nan array of cordons-bleus settings;
\nplates of interplay, live and wise;
\nbuffered by a detectable rise in the pulse
\nof much intratext and crunched digits;
\nfruit, meat, fruition to clutch and feel
