Dr. Richard Romano joined the economics faculty at the University of Florida in 1982 having finished his Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh. He was promoted to full professor in 1995, was Gerald L. Gunter Professor from 1997-2014 while in the Warrington College of Business, is currently Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and has twice been a University of Florida Research Foundation Professor. He served as a Visiting Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, at the University of British Columbia, and at the Institute of Economics at Barcelona University. Romano has published over sixty articles on a variety of public policy issues, with current research focus on education policy, political economy, and provision of local public goods. His research has been supported by eight National Science Foundation grants. Romano has served as a member of the editorial boards on the American Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Public Economic Theory, and Education Finance and Policy. He has taught managerial economics and strategy in the MBA program, public finance and imperfect competition in the Ph.D. program, and game theory to undergraduates. He is married with three children and one grandchild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
