She completed her Ph.D. in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soc.upenn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sociology<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pop.upenn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Demography<\/a>\u00a0at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998.\u00a0 Before coming to the University of Florida, she was an NIA post-doctoral fellow in the Demography of Aging,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jhsph.edu\/dept\/PFHS\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Population, Family, and Reproductive Health<\/a>, at the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Her\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/people.clas.ufl.edu\/tkcox\/research\/\">research<\/a>\u00a0focuses on marital status, parenthood, and childlessness over the life course &#8212; their meanings in society and their implications for adults at different ages.
