Walk Through Combinatorics<\/i>, 3rd edition, by Bona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Course Objectives:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Permutations and combinations, binomial coefficients, inclusion-exclusion, recurrence relations, Fibonacci sequences, generating functions and graph theory. (Roughly, chapters 1–10.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grading:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

We will have roughly weekly homework (40%), two midterm exams (30%), and a comprehensive final exam (30%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The final grades will be curved, but will be no tougher than the 10-point scale: 90%\u2013100% will be some form of A, 80\u201390% will be at least some form of B, etc. After each midterm, you will receive a projected grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

If you have a disagreement with the grading of one of your solutions, I ask that you submit a written request for reconsideration within one month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Grading will be in accord with the UF policy stated at https:\/\/catalog.ufl.edu\/ugrad\/current\/regulations\/info\/grades.aspx.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
