She was a University of Florida Term Professor for 2017-2020. She was also a University of Florida Research Foundation Professor for 2014-2016 \u00a0and a recipient of a Teaching Award in 2010 in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over two thirty articles on Latin literature, her research focuses on the Roman historians and post-Augustan writers. She has written twin studies on conspiracy for the University of Texas Press: <a href=\"https:\/\/utpress.utexas.edu\/9780292722330\/\"><em>Conspiracy Narratives in Roman History<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(2004) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/utpress.utexas.edu\/9780292756809\/conspiracy-theory-in-latin-literature\/\"><em>Conspiracy Theory in Latin Literature<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(2012). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She is the author of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/uk\/rome-and-the-literature-of-gardens-9780715635063\/\"><em>Rome and the Literature of Gardens<\/em><\/a> (London 2006); <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bolchazy.com\/product\/a-sallust-reader-selections-from-bellum-catilinae-and-bellum-iugurthinum-and-historiae-p3436\/\">A Sallust Reader<\/a><\/em> (Wauconda 2009); and<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/uk\/tacitus-9781780763187\/\">Tacitus<\/a><\/em> (London 2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She is the editor of the Blackwell <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiley.com\/en-us\/shop\/general-introductory-history\/a-companion-to-tacitus-p-9781405190329\">Companion to Tacitus<\/a><\/em> (2012). She is the sole editor of the two-volume <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiley.com\/en-us\/The+Tacitus+Encyclopedia-p-9781444350258\">Tacitus Encyclopedia<\/a><\/em> published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2023 (see the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.clas.ufl.edu\/a-new-roman-encyclopedia\/\">CLAS feature article<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">With James McNamara she co-edited <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/us\/tacitus-wonders-9781350241725\/\">Tacitus&#8217; Wonders: Empire and Paradox in Ancient Rome<\/a><\/em> (2023) and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/us\/early-modern-receptions-of-tacitus-9781350592995\/\">Early Modern Receptions of Tacitus: High Tacitism<\/a><\/em> (in production, 2026). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">With Judith W. Page she co-edited twin volumes, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgescholars.com\/product\/978-1-4438-7756-5\">Disciples of Flora: Gardens in History and Culture<\/a><\/em> (2015, with Brigitte Weltman-Aron) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Women-and-the-Collaborative-Art-of-Gardens-From-Antiquity-to-the-Present\/Pagn-Page\/p\/book\/9781032464077\"><em>Women and the Collaborative Art of Gardens: From Antiquity to the Present<\/em> <\/a> (2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is a founding member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mountaintopcoalition.org\/\">Mountaintop Coalition<\/a>; immediate past president of <a href=\"https:\/\/camws.org\">The Classical Association of the Middle West and South<\/a>; and president-elect of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classicalstudies.org\/\">Society for Classical Studies<\/a>. She is co-chair of the University of Florida Intercollegiate Athletic Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born and raised in Ravenna, Ohio, Victoria spent a year at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, Rhode Island before she earned her B.A. in Latin at Kent State University, her M.A. in Classical Studies at the University of Michigan, and her Ph.D. in Classical Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago.
