Professor Yaniv Feller

Associate Professor

Yaniv Feller is a scholar of modern Jewish thought and museum studies. His first book, The Jewish Imperial Imagination: Leo Baeck and German-Jewish Thought, was named a finalist for the Jordan Schnitzer Book Award of the Association for Jewish Studies in the category of Jewish Thought and Philosophy. He is also the co-editor of The Challenge of Covenantal Thinking: Essays on the Philosophy and Theology of David Novak and author of articles in Comparative Studies in Society and History, Journal of Religion, New German Critique, and Political Theology and other journals and edited volumes.

A former curator at the Jewish Museums Berlin, Yaniv’s current book project is a comparative study of Jewish museums titled Museum: Placing Jews in Boxes. The project has been supported by the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation and the Institute for the History of German Jews.
