Practice & Partnerships
A meeting of the Kwandu Conservancy, Namibia
Beyond the university, I have significant experience developing programs that link research and practice. As a Research Fellow with the Science for Nature and People Partnership (SNAPP) and with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Fonseca Leadership Program, I have co-facilitated governance workshops in Namibia and South Africa, bringing together community leaders, practitioners, students, and scholars from across more than a dozen countries.
I also assisted Dr. Brian Child in the development of the Life Through Wildlife Professional Certificate in Wildlife Economy and CBNRM Governance, now in its third cohort. This program integrates online instruction in governance and policy with field-based training at CBNRM anchor sites across Southern Africa. These initiatives reflect my broader commitment to producing scholarship that is rigorous, collaborative, and directly impactful for communities and conservation practitioners.
