As a sociolinguist, my interests encompass language variation and change as well as langage contact and bilingualism, and language attitudes and representations. Over the years, I have built a research program that focuses on Francophone communities in North America and on urban varieties of French.Trained as an anthropologist, I base my empirical research on fieldwork and large corpora of language data collected in natural settings. While my approach is primarily quantitative, I include qualitative insights from linguistic anthropology.
