Russian Influence in Europe (RIE) Project

Students interested in participating in the Russian Influence in Europe (RIE) Project should speak with Professor Moraski directly. Accepted students will assist Professor Moraski as he completes his book manuscript, “Russia versus the Council of Europe: Annexing Crimea and Managing the Consequences,” and may have an opportunity to work on related research. As a rule, undergraduate participants will need to have earned an A or A- in one of Professor Moraski’s courses, preferably “Russian Foreign Policy” or “Politics in Russia.”

Undergraduate students wishing to receive academic credit may apply to the Junior Research Fellows Program, which is administered through the University of Florida’s Department of Political Science. An overview of the Junior Research Fellows Program, including contact information and deadlines, is available here. Please note that the workload for Junior Research Fellows will be more than what is expected from participants who are assisting with the project on a voluntary basis.

I am grateful to the following Junior Research Fellows who have already assisted with the project.

  • Hannah Harris (Spring 2024)
  • Jillian Malinsky (Fall 2022)
  • Gabriel Castro (Spring 2021)
  • Kasey Joyce (Fall 2016)

For an example of related research, see Moraski and Giurcanu (2013).
