Project and Program Design

Food Security Programming

• Team leader on eight Title II food security program design missions (in Mali, Chad, Burkina, Ethiopia, Niger)
• Coordinated needs assessments in four of the eight (in Ethiopia, Burkina, Niger)

Agricultural Research and Extension

• Prepared gender and extension proposals to promote the diffusion of higher yielding semi-arid agricultural technologies in Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Eritrea
• Facilitated the development project proposals and Requests for Proposals for projects that target rural development in general and rural and urban women for Burkina Faso’s National Action Plan for the Environment (NEAP)

Community-Based Land Management and Natural Resource Management: Team leader or member on the preparation on a series of community-based land management and NRM projects

Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development: Co-team leaders on the design of a series of initiatives to promote gender issues on the post-conflict reconstruction and development portfolio

Settlement and Resettlement: Facilitated national planning teams developing proposals to promote community-based land management and development in the isolated river basins covered by the Onchocerciasis Control Programme (OCP) in West Africa through technical assistance (in Burkina Faso, Mali, Togo and Ghana) and workshops (in the other 7 OCP countries: Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Niger, Sierra Leone, Senegal)
