Requirements (subject to revision)
CONTINUE the blog Mystory from the first project. Include the following categories (instructions for how to compose these sections must be derived from the readings):
- COMMUNITY STORY
The purpose of this section is to document the collective memory (history) of your community. “Community” may be defined in several ways: by hometown; by institution (military; church; ethnic or racial background). This section has the same form and function as the Family and Entertainment sections from Part One, except this time the memory is not personal but exists in the archive of the community: it should be a story that the community tells about itself (in books or pamphlets, through parades, ceremonies, names of buildings or streets and the like)
3 Microfictions, 6 posts. - EMBLEM (Image of Wide Scope)
The purpose of the emblem is to record and augment the pattern that emerges through the juxtaposition of the 3 parts of your mystory, and to place this pattern in relation to cultural symbolism. Devote one post to each part of the wabi-sabi structure (defined in class). - FORUM
Continue the commentary and self-assessment from Part One. Address the following points; 1) Discuss the nuance of your logo, relative to some symbol, archetype, mythology, or even stereotype that shares a similar prop or action; 2) Insights that emerged during the composition process. 3) Assess the accuracy of your wide image (do you recognize it as a good expression of your world view?) 4) Comment on the contribution images, including Google (or related) image search, made to the creative process. 4 posts, added to the existing Forum category. - LOGO, BLOG, PHOTOSHOP
On a separate PAGE put into “logo” style a representation of your image of wide scope. Make full use of the features of the blog. Enhance your images via photoshop. Design your Logo in photoshop.
Point totals: Parts 1-2 = 100 pts; Parts 3-4 = 50 pts.
