Background

I am currently a Post Doctoral Associate in the Lichstein Lab at the Biology Department of the University of Florida.  I graduated with a PhD in Applied Mathematics from UF in August 2013 under the direction of Patrick De Leenheer (Mathematics) and Steve Hagen (Physics).  My doctoral studies focused on Mathematical Biology, the application of mathematics to biological questions, and my study system was that of the bioluminescent bacteria Aliivibrio fischeri. (For more about this and other topics, see my Research page.) Currently, I am studying the effects of patch-scale disturbance on the landscape-scale forest equilibrium.

Area of Interest/Research

Mathematical modeling and analysis of ecological, biological, chemical and epidemiological systems.
