Gender-based political violence; political participation; representation; Latin American Politics

My research analyzes the relationship between violence against women in politics and democracy in Latin America. I am currently working on a book manuscript that explains what violence against women in politics is, how activism around this issue developed and has evolved, and the diverse strategies created in Latin America to address it. Before joining UF I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (University of Denver) and the One Earth Future Foundation.

My research has been published or is forthcoming in Comparative Political Studies, Perspectives on Politics, Signs, Politics & Gender, International Feminist Journal of Politics, Política y Gobierno, and the Revista Latinoamericana de Ciencias Políticas.
