Public Presentations
- Podcast about Foundations of American Jewish Liberalism – I discussed the central argument of my new book, Foundations of American Jewish Liberalism, with Tony Gill in his “Research on Religion” podcast.
- “Revenge, Reconciliation and Responsibility” – This 2009 talk summarizes the way I achieved a measure of reconciliation with the small German town where my father came from. His parents, prominent citizens of Grossrohrsdorf, were deported to the Trawniki labor camp in 1941, and murdered in Sobibor Concentration Camp in 1942. This recording discusses my address to the residents of the town in 2008, when it unveiled a monument to my grandparents. You can hear the talk below:
- “Finding Common Ground” lectures – In 1997, I delivered a series of lectures about religion in American politics at the venerable Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York. Those lectures are available for free.
