While my primary job responsibilities are teaching and student advising I still try to remain activie geoscience research. My primary research interests center on construction of the oceanic crust at mid-ocean ridges (MORs) and in particular the volcanic systems that occur along the MOR and on near-ridge seamounts. Most recently I have been involved as part of a multidisciplinary group using geopophysical surveying, the submersible Alvin and the autonomous underwater vehicle Sentry to study near axis seamounts at 8° 20′ N latitude near the Siqueiros Fracture Zone.
