Biography

Natalia Dambe is a Geoinformatics Professional with expertise in Renewable Energy development and planning, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Department of Geography at the University of Florida, working with Dr. Johanna Engstrom. Her research focuses on the renewable energy transition.

Natalia is also an instructor in the Geography Department. Before joining UF, Natalia worked as a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Project Planner for ENERTRAG, an international renewable energy company. As a GIS Project Planner, Natalia shared the vision of inclusive and innovative renewable energy in Africa, where she mainly focused her efforts on the planning phase of wind, solar, hydrogen, biomass, and hybrid development sites. Applying her geoinformatics and spatial analytical skills, she identified and optimized the best renewable energy sites that respected the environmental and regulatory guidelines for sustainable clean energy generation.

Natalia has a Master of Philosophy in Geomatics, specializing in GIS and Remote Sensing; Honours in GIS, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying. Her strong background in spatial technology presents endless opportunities to identify and provide human-centric and data-driven solutions to real-world problems across disciplines, including energy, sustainable development, social justice, land management, and natural environment, among others.
