Complex numbers, analytic functions, Cauchy-Riemann equations, harmonic functions, elementary functions, integration, Cauchy-Goursat theorem, Cauchy integral formula, infinite series, residues and poles, conformal mapping. Objectives include master of the course content and writing clear, complete and logical solutions of problems involving functions of a complex variable.
Selected problems from the text will be assigned on a daily basis.
There will be three 12 point quizzes during the last 15 minutes of class on the following days. Makeup quizzes (documentation required) will be given during the time reserved for a final exam.
There will be three 38 point exams on the following days. Makeup exams (documentation required) will be given during the time reserved for a final exam.
A course total will be computed by adding the exam and quiz scores (total 150). Grades will then be assigned according to a straight scale:
