Philip Teitelbaum took his PhD degree in Physiological Psychology at Johns Hopkins University in 1954. His early work focused on the hypothalamic control of food and water intake. It showed that there are stages of recovery from such damage. These stages allowed the disentangling of the complex set of disturbances in feeding and drinking that resulted from such damage. These disturbances also included disturbances in movement that led him to study EWMN in Israel. Currently with Osnat Teitelbaum they apply the method to the study of autism and Asperger’s syndrome.
