Brief description: We will cover chapters 1 through 5.
Grading system: There will be four in-class midterms and a final, all of the same weight. The exams are open book open notes, and they cover the respective chapters of the textbook, i.e. the final is not cumulative. The dates of the midterms are Jan 28, Feb 25, April 1, all Wednesdays; the final will be in LIT 0235 on April 30 at 5:30pm. Homework will be assigned at the end of almost every lecture; these assignments will not be collected or graded. Attendance will not be taken. The total grade will be determined using a straight scale (i.e. A=94-100, A-=90–93 etc. )

I am on a business trip between March 28 and April 4. If you want to ask questions before the third exam, I will be available (outside of my office hours) on Wed Mar 25 and Fri Mar 27 between 3 and 6pm.
