About
Joanne Britland is Assistant Professor of Spanish and Digital Humanities. She specializes in twentieth and twenty-first century Iberian literature, visual, and cultural studies. She is the co-editor of the Routledge volume The Political Imagination in Spanish Graphic Narrative (2023). Her current book project analyzes digital cultural responses to social, political, and economic crises in Spain from the financial crash of 2008 to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has published on television, film, comics, novels, and theater in the Bulletin of Spanish Studies, the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, Hispanic Research Journal, Hispania, Hispanic Studies Review, and Chasqui.
Dr. Britland is the Chair of the MLA CLCS European Regions Forum.
