Undergraduate research assistants are an important part of our lab and are a big part of how we conduct research. As an undergraduate research assistant, you can get hands-on experience observing and conducting research. Our undergraduate research assistants receive training and experience related to data collection, data analysis, evaluating interobserver agreement, experimental design, and, in some cases, conducting assessments and interventions.
To work as an undergraduate research assistant in our lab, students should ordinarily be in the behavior analysis track as a psychology major. Following initial participation with our lab, students may continue as a senior research assistant. Students who’ve taken this course have had a high rate of success in applying to graduate programs in behavior analysis (and other fields) as well as finding jobs as registered behavior technicians working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities.
Please email VollmerLab@psych.ufl.edu if you have questions about research opportunities.
