Undergraduate research assistants are an important part of our lab and are a big part of how we conduct research. As an undergraduate research assistant you can get hands-on experience observing and conducting research. Our undergraduate research assistants receive training and experience related to data collection, data analysis, evaluating interobserver agreement, experimental design, and, in some cases, conducting assessments and interventions.
To work as an undergraduate research assistant in our lab, please sign up for Laboratory in Applied Behavior Analysis, EAB 4714C, which Dr. Vollmer currently teaches. Following completion in this course you can apply to continue working with our lab as a senior research assistant. The prerequisite for the lab class is Principles of Behavior Analysis (EAB 3002) or Applied Behavior Analysis (EAB 3764). Students who’ve taken this course have had a high rate of success in applying to graduate programs in behavior analysis (and other fields) as well as finding jobs as registered behavior technicians working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities.
Please contact Psychology Advising or email VollmerLab@psych.ufl.eduĀ if you have questions about the courses.
