Open Positions – We are looking for a Post-doc!

We are hiring a post-doctoral associate to work on our funded cocaine polysubstance abuse project. The post-doctoral associate will work on a NIH-funded project to understand the impact of cocaine, alcohol and cannabis on dopamine and glutamate homeostasis. This project is conducted in collaboration with Dr. Barry Setlow (UF Psychiatry) and Marek Schwendt (UF Psychology).

Requirements include a PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. Applicants should be experienced in and/or interested in learning the following techniques: intravenous drug self-administration, fiber photometry, RNAscope, and confocal microscopy.

It is home to the UF Center for Addiction Research and Education (CARE), which includes over 40 faculty conducting research in the field of substance use and abuse, with interests ranging from molecular biology to epidemiology. These faculty are housed within a variety of departments and colleges, including Pharmacy, Neuroscience, Psychiatry, Psychology, Epidemiology, and Health Education and Behavior, but are centrally organized within CARE. CARE hosts monthly seminars with internal and external speakers, and an annual conference. CARE is also committed to graduate student and post-doctoral trainees, and offers funding opportunities for professional development, research, and travel.

Successful applicants will hold a PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field. We are hoping to fill this position in early January 2022.
